So my mechanic tells me I have a leak in the coolant lines from the front to the rear a/c. He suggested the block-off kit as opposed to replacing the lines...MUCH cheaper. Installing the block-offs looks pretty easy for me to do, but how hard is it to recharge the system? I know I can buy one of those cans of 134a and throw it in there, but is that the best way? Should I let him install the blocks and recharge the system properly (I assume he'll vacuum the system first, etc.)? BTW, they mention you should charge the system "1-1 1/4 pounds LESS than factory specifications" with the rear blocked-off. Thanks guys!

sure you can do the block off yourself, but leave the charging to someone who has the proper equipment to do it right.
