On a few occasions when I have done a quick stop and go, complete vehicle shutdown. When I return I hear the rear fan running and air blowing thru the rear headliner a/c vents. I have noticed this 2-3 times, but this is my wife's daily driver so don't know how frequent this is going on. But on 2 occasions it ran long enough to drain the battery, luckily happened at home. Anybody else having a similar issue?

Anyone have any insight/schematic, maybe sticking relay?

Thanks Roy

Elizabeth,

Thanks for the show of concern about my truck. As of now, I have not been in contact with dealer. I figured I'd ask here first to see if someone had a similar issue with a simple fix. The service department will be my next option.

Thank you

Roy its called ab after-blow function. It is the vehicles way of drying out the evaporator core so that it does not get mold in it and develop that urine odor.
Perfectly normal.

If the afterblow causes your battery to run down you can have it turned off by a Dealer. Go here and scroll all the way down to the end of the page. http://www.sandyblogs.com/techlink/2011/05/

Thanks for the help, I used the search tab but nothing came using the keywords I entered. I'll be sure to mention and take a print out of the info provided.

Thanks again
Roy

Is turning off the after blow function something I should be charged with. Service guy is calling me saying is going to $100. It is out of 3/36 warranty, but seems issues relating to TSB should not have fees to them.

RoRo,

The TSB's are just instructions for the service techs to fix a concern. Unless the dealership deems them covered under warranty they will be at the customers’ expense.

Thank you,
