I have a 2006 Tahoe. The rear air control is manual and overhead by the rearview mirror. It will randomly decide to blow when dialed on 1 or 2 and works great on 3. It blows hot and cold fine and switches from the different positions fine (face only/foot only). When driving at night I noticed the middle of the overhead control panel is dim and the outer part is brighter. I don't know if I need to replace a part in the overhead panel or the blower motor or resistor in the rear panel. I have looked all over online and can't find any answers. The usual problem for people is the front dial not the rear. My front air works great.

I'll update on my own account for anyone else having the same problem since no one else commented. I fixed this myself. The 2006 Tahoe in the rear has a resistor relay: ACDelco 15-8961 GM Original Equipment Multi-Purpose Relay. I was able to pop off the panel and switch it out within half an hour. Only tools needed were a 7mm socket and a phillips screwdriver. There are youtube video's that show how to take the panel off. The part through the dealer would have been $123 but I got it on Amazon for $59. As for the dim light in the middle of my overhead console, it isn't related and must just be a bulb burnt out. Rear air works perfect now!
