Rear AC Controler

how do I know if the rear Ac Controler is blown? My rear speakers sound like they are blown, they sound distorted. I'm not sure if it is my rear ac unit or something else. I would like to know before dropping 180 on a new one

The rear ac controller were you can turn the heated seats on controls my rear speakers. If I disconnect it then I don't have rear speakers
