Hi All,

I'm digging into my stock (2001 Tahoe Non Bose) stereo to see why the subwoofer and d-pillar tweeters aren't functioning.

Whomever worked on it previously bypassed the amp and wired up the front speaker outputs to BOTH the front and back doors by splicing wires into the harness from the stereo directly to the output harness from the amp. They also disconnected the output harness from the amp.

Now, what I did was reconnect the amp (I left the bypass the way it is), and tested the rear controls to make sure they power up, which they do. Still no sound to the sub or d-pillar tweets.

Is there anything else I should check to make sure the rear controls are not the issue?

Is there any way that I can test the amp to make sure that it's functioning?

I would really prefer to just get my stock system up and running, rather than rewire and go aftermarket. I'm ok bypassing the rear audio stuff altogether, I don't use any of it. I don't know how I would do that if that is even the problem.

I've added a picture of the spliced wires from the stereo OUT harness. Notice 8 wires coming from 4 to facilitate powering all door speakers with the front stereo outputs. Like I mentioned, these go over to the amps output harness to get to the speakers.

I know about the nicked wires. They were crimp spliced. I am going to fix them up before reassembly.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
