Rear (Auxiliary) Blower Question

Took the 2003 Tahoe to GM dealer to check rear blower not working. Dealer said it needed a new motor and resistor. Went to GM Parts Direct and could not find the resistor on the diagram for rear heat\AC system. Found a note at bottom of the page for GM Part# 89018536.

I guess my question is dose the rear blower require a resistor? Has anyone replaced it with that part number?

according to my findings it shows the front & rear resistor are the same part number, do a search

so it should work for the back also, you can test your rear fan operation by disconnecting it from the resistor and just put 12v battery to it

John, make sure the knob on the fan control is NOT turned to the OFF position. I would remove the cover, check the ground wire and make sure it's tight. If none of this works, with switch ON, tap on the motor LIGHTLY with a small hammer HANDLE ONLY, not the hammer end. Let us know what you find, good luck.
