Hello all, my first visit here.

I have a 2001 Yukon. The rearended is bad, housing is rusty. Etc. been sitting 3 years.
Couple months ago I had a chance to get a 2004 z71 Tahoe that was rolled. Today I started pulling the rearend out of the 01. The gear ratios are the same gt4 G80. But the axle housing numbers are different. 9276 versus 9289.
My question, does anyone know what the difference in the housing is? Only thing I know is the 01 has code g65 the load levelers.
Any help would be great.
Thank you.
Glen.

Just make sure they have the same gear ratios and mounting brackets and you'll be fine. Probably just a casting number or lot number.
