My Tahoe has rear barn doors.

I like them, but they are making noise.

When on the freeway @ 65-70 MPH Something is squeeking in the back,

I think its the doors.

Ive put electrical tape on the door strikers/latches to tighten them up. Didnt help.

Ive taken apart the rear door trim/carpet, inspected everything and put all back together and still i get a sqeek.

Its annoying!

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Tim

try using a silicon based spray like WD40...spray it on every joint that moves. If that doesn't do it, try putting tape, like cheap tape, not duct tape around the door seal. Open doors up, put it on the foam pad seal. Then close doors, go for drive. See if that stops it. if so, then you may need a new rubber/foam seal.

Thanks, i did lubricate all hinges/latches/ weather stripping with silicone spray.

Also put extra foam insulation over top of the existing weatherstripping.

Its crazy, only does it at highway speed.:emotions122:

open the doors and lift up on them to see if they move you might need new pins like mine do but they don't squeek.

Barn Door Squeek

I have been battling this on my 96 Yukon since I bought it! Took it to the dealership and they said I needed new weather stripping. So a few months later, (and after trying all sorts of different cheaper fixes) I was so frustrated that I bit the bullet and spent the $179.00+ on new weather stripping.. Chevy no longer carries them by the way but I got them at a car parts store that specializes in weather stripping, clips, etc.. It was good for a few weeks. Today -- it started again:emotions122: I know this is an old post but I hope someone sees it and replies...

Thanks!
Ray
