Im running 33's on my stock 93 Yukon and the rear end is sagging a bit, drives me crazy... I can't afford a lift just yet But I want to go 2"front 4"back, I want it to have a bit of a rake.... How hard are the blocks to put in and would I need an alignment after? Thanks for the help gentlemen

a four inch block in my opinion is way big without a true lift in the front but that is up to you. Adding blocks does not require an alignment. Installation is simple if you ask me but I've done it may times. The block needs to be located between the spring pack and the axle. A way to do this liftout a car lift is to lift the truck up and support the frame well. Then remove the wheels. Then slide a jack under the axle to support the weight, remove the old U bolts most likely cut them off. The axle will be free at that point, mind the brake lines and so on. Lower the jack a little until you can fit the block in there and install the NEW U bolts, tighten them up and put everything back together.

If and when you crank the front torsion bars, you WILL need an alignment.

Summit racing and jeggs sell various blocks. I say look for a steel block , but aluminum will work.

^^^^ my exact thoughts... 3" would be a much better option.. cranking your torsion that much to be level with a 4" rear is going to make the front ride like POOP... been there done that hatted every mile driven.. my 2 cents

got a 2inch on mine.. couldnt crank level with the stock bars. hardest part is cuttin u bolts. do one side at a time and sometimes you gotta use the jack to push the axle back up to get the block lined up in the hole then attach u bolts. i put a 2inch rough country one on mine. couldnt be happier. did all this in my driveway so its not a hard task

Thank you for your replies....

I talked to the original owner and he had the torsion bars cranked in the front a few inchs to fit the 33's. So to more clear I am riding two inchs higher in the front than in the back, I dont want the back to be level but to ride I figure 2-3 inchs higher than the front. So 4 inch block would give me what I'm going for... Only problem is I've never done suspension work and am nervous about it.... Again thanks for helping me out

Two or 2.5 inch block is the way to go. You will still have a rake. Just measure your current height on all four corners and adjust from there. Your front is probably only an inch or so higher than rear. A 2 or 2.5in block will be perfect.

Do they even make 4" blocks. Seems to me it would be streching the shocks a bit. I have just the 2 in blocks in the rear. no crank and im digging my raked look. its just temporary tho.

I'm going with a 2" block and going to get the leafs re-arched later on, I went to a shop yesterday and we decided that blocks and re-arching will give me the height in looking for.

On another note I went and priced out 18x9 ion 179's and some 33x12.5x18 hankook dyna pro's.... It seems off to me but is 2700$ to much?
