Rear Captain Seats 05 tahoe

I have a pair of rear captain chairs in an 05 tahoe with 3rd row. The 2nd row Captains neither will lock in. Like they just flop back and forth. I have googled/read the cable breaks but it does nto look or appear mine has the cables. Is there another design for the captains vs the 60/40 bench? Its like the lock on the joints of the seat is closed and not accepting it to lock back. so both the bottoms and back just flop around. Suggestions?

you might could check for dirt or garbage in the springs or lock mechanism..maybe or just play with it a little bit,my moms seats wouldn't go down,turned out the wire that unlocks the back part was broke it one and the other one just came loose
