I’m having a heck of time locating the fuse for the rear cargo 12V outlet on my 04 Tahoe. Anyone know where this is located? I think I blew the fuse the other day using an air compressor out of this outlet.

Thanks for your help.

Have you tried to measure the voltage at the socket?
I haven’t yet. That’s probably the next step to take huh? I’ll have to get my hands on a multimeter

You can use a 12v light bulb with leads, or a test light, too. Someone earlier this week had the same problem but what he was plugging in wasn't long enough to reach the contacts, IIRC. It wasn't the socket's fault.

if the socket got too hot they will short out and melt then it may only be putting out 4v or something and yet not blow the fuse.

The diagrams and fuse descriptions are in the owner's manual. If you have the manual, you have the fuse info.

So on the Instrument Panel fuse box I checked:
SEO ACCY
AUX PWR 2
RR WIPER

Engine Bay fuse box I checked:
LBEC2
RR HVAC
AUX PWR
RR DEFOG
CIG LTR
RR WPR
W/S WASH

These were all the ones that had something to do with the rear of the car it seemed.

My Tahoe has 4 cigarette/12V outlets (2 up front, 1 for the middle row passengers, and one in the back cargo). As far as the fuse maps are concerned, they only really show 3 (AUX PWR, AUX PWR 2, and CIG LTR). LBEC2 in the engine bay was interesting to me because the description of it has many different options, one being “Aux power outlet rear cargo area and instrument panel”. It would have been the 4th fuse having to do with a 12V outlet, but it also seemed fine.

I think I’ll have to check the actual outlet with a multimeter. I did pull the plastics off and checked the outlet and everything, didn’t see signs of melting or whatever so idk.
