rear defrost

my yuk has barn doors and the contacts for the defrost are corroded to hell. already tried cleaning them but didn't work. anyone know where to buy some replacement contacts?

they generally cost $36 for body side and $17 for door side each from the dealer. May not find them elsewhere so about $106 at dealer to do the whole truck. That takes care of window heaters, door lock actuator and door open switch(if wire the same way as 96-97 ust have not checked the details).Should only take 30 minutes to do.

my rear defrost isnt working either, but i havent looked into it until you brought up the subject. i think im gonna check out the contact tomorrow...

or the fuse?

with your back doors open intitiate a defrost cycle and probe the two upper contacts on the body side if you have your 12v you just eliminated eveything except the door assy. The main power feed fuse for the relay should be in underhood juction box label rr defog -30amps. Control power feed inside cab as htr-a/c fuse #12-25amps.

This shuld be for 1998-99.
