Driver's side rear door is locked shut (96 Denali). I was able to take the door panel off, all rods attched to actuautor, seems to be no issue from that end. It appears as if the lock is engaged and will not disengage manually or electronically.

Is there a way to get this to release manually? Can I disassemble the actuator from inside the door? With the door stuck closed I don;t know what to do. I tries to manually get the lock to release by hand and nothing seems to work.

Wow that sucks! You can try removing the rod for the lock mechanism, maybe. Does it have child locks?

Gave up and took to my mechanic to fix. Bad actuaor which is what I figured. He played around with a screwdriver and got the door to release. I did the same for an hour and had no luck, score one for the experts i guess.

I generally buy my parts online and take them to him, screwed up here and it cost me $220 for the actuator.
