My 95 just was in the shop for getting the entire front end lowered, re-done, lined up, and that part is all good. It's like a new truck up there!

The rear driveshaft we noticed at the pinion can be moved up and down in the u-clamps, caps and all, but only so far. I know this is NOT supposed to do that.

I am not sure of the issue. When I got the Tahoe, it had a bad rear end, and was replaced with one from a 97 Yukon. Bolted right up.

Does the 97 have a different size setup, or maybe a aluminum driveshaft? Apparently I found my little vibration that I couldn't figure out, now what to do to solve it...

Any thoughts would be great!

unknown at this time.
sounds just like worn u joints to me. but make sure the pinion angle is correct too. might have been off a bit when the other rear end went in.

That's what I thought too at first. Then looking closer, i found that the entire u-joint including the caps, was moving around in the straps. I have never seen that before.

Perhaps the straps are not the right ones...I have seen worn u joints where the joint wiggles but the caps stay tight in the straps. This one has 1/2 in of play back and forth sliding in the straps.

I have new ones, so I know what I'll be doing on the 4th...lol
