I am going to be taking my Tahoe Z56 PPV to a local place for a Eaton TruTrac for just under $1000.00 My Tahoe has the 3:73 and I am thinking about going to a 3:42 to try for a little better fuel mileage.

Z71's have G80's from the factory for those who have an open diff and need one. Local wrecking yards may have some :)

G80's aren't a very sought after carrier for a reason. I'd throw in a lunch box locker (powertrax noslip) before a scrap yard G80.

Trust me I know this very well, I was just saying if the 1K price stated earlier was to much and you must have a limited slip, then you can find them in a scrap yard. No where was I ever stating that it was sought after nor commonly done. I've actually had no problems with the handful of G80 equipped vehicles I've owned over the years, but I am also on top of my maintenance and don't abuse my vehicles.
