Been reading all the posts on how great the Tru Trac is and I think I want one; maybe.
Truck is a 1997 2 door 4wd with 3.73 rear end, around 135K miles and a currently has a working G80.
Winter this year was especially harsh here in the Northeast and while I have 4WD, I'd like to feel more confident and capable in taming the bad weather.

What is involved with a complete rear end rebuild and more importantly what kind of $$$ is involved.
Skill set is beyond my ability so I'll be paying to have this done.
Thanks

Well beside the cost of tru-trac you also get a master overhaul kit For less then $200. Includes new bearings, seals and gasket. Not that you will need the kit that has bigger journals if you use the tru-trac. You will remove the axles and the ring and pinion assembly and will need a pinion holding wrench and torque wrench among other basic tools.
