Problem w/ Rear Glass LATCH: Poor contact (cargo door ajar)
The below photo shows close up of rear latch locking mechanism. The two wires going to "switch" (door ajar switch) require a plate, brass in colour to be pressed across them in order to close switch loop and turn off "CARGO DOOR AJAR" and cabin lights.
Out of the blue! The lock mechanism and it's latch(s) do not force the switch/contacts ("CARGO DOOR AJAR") closed anymore. WHAT HAPPENED?!
*
ALSO HAPPENING AND TOTALLY RELATED: I have to slam the glass hatch to get it to latch and stay latched. However, it will unlatch if I close the tailgate because the tailgate hitting shutting closed is enough force to counter act the latch assembly causing to unlatch yet again. Causing me to have to close both tailgate and glass every time I need in the back. Thats my rant, i think.
Same thing bigger picture.
