So I parked my car in front of the Best Buy in my city. I parked right beside a flower pot so only one side of my car was exposed to the possible door hit etc. Unfortunately someone ended up pulling in and scratching my whole bumper and a bit of the top part of my rear body above the wheel well. I guess it could be time for the new escalade bumper but is there any way to fix the body! Pissed off about this pretty much a hit and run.

here are the pics....

Does the scratch go past the paint?

If you run your fingernail by it, can you feel it?

On the body it does not it just looks like a trade of paint but on the bumper its past the paint into what looks like the primer.

you might be able to polish out the body then. any good detailer could get most of it off.

If you have a polisher and your comfortable I would just use a compound and it should come out unless it's deep then your going to need re-painting

Yeah most of the time something like that will come right out with a porter cable or a flex machine. It will take multipule passes to get it back to original. Some times if you can pull on it with your finger nail you can wet sand it down a little and then buff out but I wouldn't do that unless you know what your doing. To bad you didn't live closer I could have done it for ya :)

PS oh and don't love you F*cking a holes that do that and don't leave a note or anything. Had it happen twice to me in parking lots one the rear pumper and didn't leave a note and one a little old lady backed into the front bumper and actually did come in and find me.
