The rear wiper in my 99 Denali is having some issues. The wiper arm feels very loose and the wiper misses most of the window. I replaced the wiper blade and the problem is still there.

unknown at this time.
Your arm may have a weak spring the forces wiped on to window. Or there is a chemical film of some sort on the glass.

I'm thinking it may be more of the wiper arm causing the problem. The wiper arm is very loose.

sorry wiper arm spring is what I meant.

I did pick a spring up at the yard when I was there getting some stuff. The spring came off a pretty tight feeling wiper. Is there a trick to getting the old one off and the new one on?

There is a little tab on the wiper arm at the pivot point, take some pliers and pull it away from the arm parallel to the glass. It's kind of a c-clip deal. Most likely, the hose for the sprayer will be stuck to the nozzle, but that's not a real big issue as you can disconnect that from inside the window, behind the wiper motor.

The stealership sells new ones for around $45. I had to do that because the hinge on the wiper arm of my '99 got stiff from corrosion, cleaned it once with industrial degreaser, but the next time I had to replace it.

I figured that's how it came off, but I can't seem to get that little clip to pull out. And that's the wiper arm that's $45 at the dealer?
