Something to do with brakes while in four wheel drive at speed, most 2014 to current trucks and Tahoe/Yukon suvs. my.gm.com/recalls and type in VIN

  • GM Recall #:
  • N192261050
  • NHTSA #
  • 19V761
  • Date Issued:
  • Oct 24, 2019
Recall Title:

Unexpected Pull To One Side

Affected vehicles:
the following models and model years are affected, but only when equipped with the 5.3-liter V8 engine, 3.08 axle ratio and 4WD.

  • 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado
  • 2014-2018 GMC Sierra
  • 2015-2020 Chevrolet Suburban
  • 2015-2020 Chevrolet Tahoe
  • 2015-2020 GMC Yukon
The fix: dealers will reprogram the electronic brake control module (EBCM) in affected vehicles. GM says this is a “phased launch” as the revised software is already available for 2019-2020 Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon, but GM is still working on software for the 2014-2018 model-year Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, and 2015-2018 model-year Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, and GMC Yukon. This repair will be made at no cost to the customer.

Dropped mine off at the dealer tonight since there is a fix for the 2019 models. On the way, I developed a brake problem that said service brake assist.

Got the truck back. Dealer could not duplicate the brake problem. May be one of those issues where turning the truck off resets the computer. Dealer said that applying the recall may also have fixed it since the brake ECM is reprogrammed.

Well guess I will have the dealership look at my 2018 and my fiance's 2014 Sierra since I'm taking them in next week anyways for routine maintenance!
