I currently do not have a receiver hitch on my '93 Yukon... I want to get one for towing my fishing boat but, the local shops are asking over $700 for one with install... I found a bolt on receiver hitch from LMCTruck.com... I was wondering if that would work or if I should spend the money on one from a local shop?

go hit up a junkyard and see if you can find one for cheap. biggest thing i would think is making sure you get the correct grade bolts to bolt it up, no lumber yard bolts. my yukon had one on it when i got it, so i haven't priced them, but i wouldn't have a problem with a used one. i would IMAGINE the hitch is the same for the truck/suburban/tahoe/yukon, not positive about that, but if so it would make your search a little easier. and i'm not sure if the frame is already drilled out for it from the factory, but if so it should be a real easy swap.

unknown at this time.

$700 is a rip off. You can get a reese towpower class IV hitch for about $200 and drill and bolt yourself. That is one strong hitch. 12,000gross/1.200 tongue which far exceeds the capability of the tahoe by two times I think.

I say junk yard. Thats how I got mine for a whole $25. I sanded it and put like 4 coats of paint on it. I have a 99 tahoe and the hitch I got came off a suburban. The holes where already in my frame, just buysome good grade bolts on it. In total for everything paint/hitch/bolts was $60. cant beat that.

Yes, $700 installed is a rip-off. I work for an RV dealership, and even though our shop rate is $94 per hour, we still would only charge $400 installed at THE MOST. It might even be cheaper if we went with a lesser expensive hitch than Reese.

You can even buy a no-drill hitch nowadays....it will just bolt on. Do it yourself and save.

junk yard for the win! there were probably 50 hitches at the two pull it yourself yards here in Indy on Saturday. should be able to find one for pennies on the dollar compared to a brand new one.

As stated... install it yourself and save - junk yard for a used one, or purchase a new one for FAR less than $700 - that's ridiculous by anyone's standards.
