So I managed to pick up a bunch of spares for my PPV. Got the receiver hitch, rear view mirror, DIC switch, a window trim piece, both front pillar trim pieces (with Bose speakers) and a center console. All for $260.

The center console is the wrong color, but paint will fix that. But the lid is the tricky part. Do I buy a whole new lid for $45 or do I buy a new skin for half that and install it myself?

has anyone done this?

Thx

I don't have the ppv but I did replace the lid, I figured trying to staple in a new cover probably wouldn't come out as nice as just buying a lid with the cover already in place

I just recovered one and it wasn’t bad. Made sure to buy a cover that had foam on the back as I’ve seen ones without and it’s not very comfortable. Just used a large staple gun

Where are you finding entire lids for $45?

$45 is about what I paid the Dorman replacement lid off of ebay, I just had to swap the trim piece because the one I bought was black I think and mine has the wood trim

I recovered my LT console lid with a $40 replacement "pleather" cover purchased online. It was easier to do than I thought. I actually enjoyed doing that project.

Had no idea that I could buy a complete replacement lid for only a few dollars more. My google-fu must have been extremely weak while researching that project.

I almost bought the cover only because I didn't know there was a whole aftermarket lid for way less than a new oem lid, I kind of found it by accident while looking at the covers trying to find the best price.

Hmmm, the dorman ones show at a minimum $190 anywhere. Do you happen to have a link or part number?
