Has anyone installed a remote start or alarm in their Tahoe? Just wanting to know if it's worth doing myself or taking it somewhere. If there's a thread where someone has done it that would be a big help!

Oem? You can but if you go oem, you'd have to take it to a dealer or someone with a scanner to program onto the bcm.
As far as aftermarket it's not bad. You just have to know what wires under the dash to tap into.

Yeah I'm definitely going aftermarket.. I want the whole deal because I had my Tahoe broken into and they stole my $650 radio and harnesses. I want battery backup siren, bump and shatter glass sensors, and the app on my phone.

I recommend compustar and their drone system. I have that now on my truck. It has backup, tilt sensor and lateral sensors, like if someone pushes your truck, it will go off. They also have a camera system they came out that can be tied into the system that can take photos.
The drone is phone app that can use to start, lock, unlock and receive alerts for alarms and such. They have a lifetime warranty on the system but I believe it requires a installer for the warranty.

No break glass sensors? And that sounds awesome I'll definitely look into that one!

It's a shock sensor. Any kind of impact. I had it set to sensitive where a windy night would trigger false alarms.
It cost for 1 year basic 49 and premium Is 129 I believe. As long you have cell service you can monitor your truck. I remote started my truck while in Florida one time and my truck was in Rhode Island.
I have 4 cars linked to my drone. Of course they all have drone Mobil

I'll have to ask my local shop if they have it!
