Remote start disables power lift gate

The power lift gate works on my 2011 Suburban LTZ except when the remote start is in use. It also will not unlatch the lift gate lock for manual operation when the power lift gate button in the cabin is set to off. Strangely, the power lift gate works in powered operation whether the interior button is in the on or off position. I’ve replaced the lift gate latch and motor (and the close button on the bottom of the gate that I broke) but nothing else. Any idea where to start next?

I do not believe that the power lift gate will work in a remote start scenario. For security reasons, I believe. Or, mine is bad, as well, as it won't open after a remote start, until the key is in the ignition and turned to on.

No you need to have the key tured on to get gate to open.

+1 to all of the responses so far. Neither of my Denali's will allow the rear liftgate to open from the key fob when remote start is in use.

I use the power lift gate with remote start on my 2007 Yukon XL Denali. I remote start in the winter/summer as I'm walking out of the grocery store to get the heater/air running and then I use the lift gate to load groceries.

Just to make sure I'm not crazy I just walked out, opened my garage, started the truck from the remote, opened the lift gate from the remote, closed the lift gate from the remote, and turned off the truck from the remote.
