Remote start no working/Block Heater

I have been having trouble with my remote start lately and I believe it might be tied to the block heater. It was -21 this morning where I am and I always have the Yukon Plugged in at night, the last two morning I have tried to remote start the car and I get nothing. When I get into the car and start it I can tell that it is colder than normal.

Any ideas as to what's going on? The vehicle is kept in a garage so its slightly warmer but by no means "warmer".

Clean your throttle body? Had similar issue in all weather. Safe to say that the throttle body had not been cleaned ever. 130 k miles

Do you have a check engine light on? My remote start goes thru all the motions, but won't start it when I have a check engine light on (which is often due to code P1175 problems I have had since I bought it...

I have a block heater and that has never made any difference.

Thanks for the responses, the SUV has just over 65k on the odometer. I still haven't figured out what's going on as its been starting as normal except for the two or three times when I posted originally. It's due for an oil change but only because I change the oil every 3k miles, the oil-meter has 50% oil life left. I looked at the possibility that the block heater was malfunctioning as it sounded as if the starter tried but said no due to the resistance of the engine being so cold.

I haven't ever reached under the it to see if it actually feels warm, maybe I should get out their one morning and see.

Does anyone know if the block heater has a fuse that may be tripped?
