Well we have not had out Yukon long (07 with 58kmiles) and not sure what's going on. I can tell ya a few things going on and maybe I can get some pointers. Ok when I try using the remote start the lights flash then come on like it is going to start then the back glass pops unlocked (don't have a clue why it does that). The drivers door lock works when it wants to sometimes it does sometimes it does not. When it looks with the fob I try it right after it does it on it's own that way I know it has a signal saying it's locked and still the same thing happens lights flash after I hold the button then come on then back glass opens you can here it pop open. It does have after market wheels without sensors so the light is always on could this cause it like a safety problem? I do all my own work and dont see this being something I should take to the dealership. Anyone else have this issue and what caused it thanks.

SW CT,
I would replace the drivers door lock actuator, the remote start uses it for a signal to know the doors are locked. Or there may be an issue with the BCM since the rear hatch pops. On the keyfob when you hit the hatch pop does it pop the glass?? what happens if you just press and hold the remote start button? Since it was purchased used it could have had an aftermarket alarm in it at some point and when it was removed they could have screwed up and crossed some wires...maybe??

Is remote start turned on in the DIC settings. I know you can set it where the remote start does not actually start the vehicle. Like stated above, may have previously had an aftermarket alarm and wires got crossed up

Anyone know how to check to see if the remote start function is turned on? And yes the back glass opens by pushing the back glass button as well that's why I'm kinda confused maybe it did have a different alarm at some point.

I would have to double check, but I think it's under the info button on the DIC. The second button.

Did anything become of this? We bought an 07 in November of 2011. The same thing happens when we try to use the remote start. I was given the 2nd key fob and was told the battery was dead. It does not work with a new battery either.

The fobs may need to be re-programmed through the DIC. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Press the vehicle information button until PRESS (check mark symbol) TO RELEARN REMOTE KEY displays.

2. Press the set/reset button until REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE is displayed.

3. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the first transmitter at the same time for approximately 15 seconds. A chime will sound indicating that the transmitter is matched.

4. To match additional transmitters at this time, repeat Step 3. Each vehicle can have a maximum of eight transmitters matched to it.

5. To exit the programming mode, you must cycle the key to LOCK.

This information is also available in the manual on page 250. For your convenience, a digital copy of the manual is available at: http://www.extendedgmwarranty.com/owners-manual/gmc/2007-GMC-Yukon.pdf

Another possibility is that the fobs need to be re-matched to the vehicle. You will need to visit your dealer to have the fobs re-matched.

I hope this information is helpful. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

davidcoulombe1993,

Are you sure you have remote start on the vehicle? If yes, then I recommend consulting with your local dealer for additional assistance.
