Total Noob on this forum but was directed this way for help.

I bought a remote start off ebay (ultra start) because it gets cold here. I am going to install it on my 2000 Yukon XL. I have installed 2 others on my wife's cars both compustars so I have a little idea on how to do it.

My question is do I need a bypass mod for the 2000 passlock system? I have read a couple places you do but a couple more you dont. Will it simplify the install process if I did pick one up?

Thanks in advance!!

Perfect!! Thanks a bunch. One more quick question. Will the XK01 also tap into my door locks or will I still have to wire those?

Thanks Omar. I do have heated seats as well. Im not sure how to set up a relay though to get them on. I was going to look into that as well as having the windows roll up and down.

I just ordered the XK01. Do I need to have it flashed for my 2000 model?

Any insight??

isn't the xk06 the one he wants for his year? you should check compatibility. also I don't think it will do the door locks/heated seats until 03+ models. again it's best to check also with the manufacturer/retailer instead of relying solely on second hand advice. http://www.xpresskit.com/

XK06 with the PLXR 3.00 firmware. XK01 is for 03+ trucks. Not sure what I was thinking when I posted that and I apologize for the misinformation. Door locks can only be controlled on the 03+ models. The XK06 will only bypass the PKII in the pre-03 models.

Well, that makes 2 of us that missed it!

For some reason, I read 2003 in the OP.

I apologize as well.
