For some reason my remote start 07 Yukon Denali stopped working Sunday. It was working fine until then.
I am not sure if this is a coincidence or not, but the check engine light came on the night before. The code was for the EVAP system. I found that the torque limiter on the gas cap was worn out, and it was clicking to soon so the cap wouldn't actually tighten.
I have replaced the gas cap, but the check engine light hasn't gone off yet, and the remote start still doesn't work. It does however make a noise like something electrical is trying to happen when you try to start it.
So, is there some type of safety or any other reason that the remote start doesn't work on the same day that the check engine light came on, or is this a coincidence? Do I need to start troubleshooting the remote start?
