Quick question for everyone out there. When i remote start my 08 LTZ the heated seats automatically go on, but when i put the key in to then drive it they go off any help would be greatly appreciated. I guess there is some type of setting making it do that.

Seems like the heated seats will come on with the remote start under 40°, or if you had them on when the car was turned off. (Or, that's what I think I've read here.) Also seems to me that the heater, despite coming on with the remote start if it's less than 70° in the truck, will not come on when the key is put in if it wasn't on when you turned the truck off.

So, the truck will want to default to the last settings in the case of the radio status and heat status, but not as far as the heated seats are concerned. I think you'll need to turn them on -- just like the fog lights, if you want them on each time -- after you insert the key.

Hopefully others will correct me if I'm wrong.

The seat heat comes on for the same reason the heater does...to warm it up for you. Once you put the key in the truck assumes you are taking over and lets you decide what you want. Don't think it has anything to do with whether or not it was on or off when you turned off the truck. Mine does the same thing. The button isn't that far away, just push it!

Allright champ, here's the deal. With remote start, if you have the automatic climate control then everything's automatic. When you remote start your auto AC takes over. If it's below a certain temperature outside then the heater comes on and your heated seats come on. Once you stick the key in the system reverts back to whatever you had it set to before. So if you had the AC blowing on low but it's 35 deg outside, then during the remote start your heater will be blowing full blast out the footwell vents and once you stick your key in then you're going to have cold air lightly blowing at you.

But still no heated seats once you turn the key on - reverts to off...and A/C won't be on if it's 35 degrees out...but there will be cold air blowing.
