Hey Everyone,

I searched for a while and can not find anything talking about how to remove the inner pannle of a 2001 tahoe barn door. I dont see any screws which makes me think that it just simply pops out but i am nervous to break it since it would be pretty tuff to find a replacement.

Haha been there done that and broke it... I thought it was a single panel and it's not. There's a upper and lower section. The top part around the window pops off first, then the lower half... And they are just clips but they are in there good.

You might to want to spend a few bucks in a panel tool. I did and it helps remove them without breaking too many.

Mine is a 2004 and it is 2 pieces. Basically the top trim around the window and down a couple inches below the window is 1 piece, and then the below that is the second. and you cant remove the lower portion without taking the top off first. Trust me, been there and done that. I have a whole kit of panel tools and they really didn't help too much because those panels are on so tight... you really gotta give it a good hard yank to release them.

I put a crack in mine because I tried to remove the bottom first... Make sure you do the top. and start at the very top, its easier to get it started there.

Sorry to question you YukonXL04 lol. I saw some pics of the panel taken off and indeed you are right. Which awesome cause i was planning on putting 2 shallow 10 in subs in the door so all i have to do is recreate the bottom half and not have to cut into the panels. Thanks agaion guys

I would like pics of this lol... Also curious how your gonna get speaker wire into the door. As well as the door handling the extra weight. I have thought about doing that as well

Yea i have to def put some planning into it. I am leaning twoards ten but open to eights for weight issues. I have seen a pick of some one doing it. As for getting the speaker wire into the door is not a problem i would have to drill a whole to run the wires and get something similair to this http://www.amazon.com/AutoLoc-DLOOM...16417967&sr=8-2&keywords=door+rubber+grommets

But like you said weight is the main issue

Well I took out my door lock and put my reverse camera in its place. so I routed wires into the door. The problem isnt drilling a hole, its not cutting the wires on the hinge. Take a look at it and let me know what you think. I want a better way of doing mine... but because the doors open almost 180* there needs to be slack in the wire, well when closing if there is slack then it gets caught on the hinge... But I want a better way, so if you come up with anything please please please let me know because Im not happy with my current setup.
