removing esky rack

supid question.. is removing an esky rack the same as removing the OEM tahoe rack? finally convinced my cuz to give me his rack off his esky for 100! but i have to swap out mine for his.. haha what an idiot!!!

Lmao!! True family love. It should be the same, the end caps can sometimes be a pain to remove.

ive never looked at them before but im assuming that the esky caps pop off and screws are underneath them. on my tahoe ones the screws are out in the open and literally take like 5 minutes to have both sides off lol.. just want to be prepared when i go over there..

ok i went to remove the esky and got the caps off but couldnt get the bars off. there is a hidden screw and i dont know how to get to it. i tried sliding the rack front to back but couldnt get it.. any ideas???

There is a bolt in the front back and middle-ish area

how to get the one in the middle out is my question? there is no access to it

SUMO has a great thread on installing them.. but i still cant get an answer to how to get the chrome bars off this nut. heres a pic from his thread of the nut..

Slide the rack either forwards or backwards. There is a notch in the rack that will let it come off of that nut.

thanks man.. i was sliding, wiggling, pulling the shit out that thing and it wouldnt come off. i ran out of time but im goin back tomorrow so hopefully ill get it.. oh and if anyone would be interested in the cross rails ill sell them!
