Removing Front Seats Question

Hello everyone i am trying to remove the front seats on my 2012 gmc yukon denali .
I would like to know what precautions should i take as far as the seat and airbags programming .
Do i have to reprogram the seats?

Do i have to disconnect the battery first?

I dont want to mess up the airbag funtion or something else.

I don't think you need to disconnect the battery.
There is however a ton of sensor plugs. Each with its own rubix cube puzzle to unplug.
Someone seriously should have won an award for how much a time suck it is figuring each out

Once the seats are out I wouldn't start it, might cause an airbag code, due to them being unplugged.

Its not that difficult. Like they said - if you turn the ignition on while the seat is out, it'll throw an airbag code. Turn the truck off, plug it back in and you'll be fine. There aren't that many plugs either, I believe just two, under the cover. Keep the seat centered over the seat frame so it'll fit thru the door opening & try not to scratch your trim!

I guess I'm not sure about that year .To do my seat foam replacement, I had at least 4 plugs

This is the wire harness in the front driver seat of an 09 SLT Yukon. Rather intimidating, but it was not bad at all.

I know its not a tahoe but i just unplugged and unbolted the seat out of my 08 accord, no battery disconnect or anything, no problems, with side curtain airbags and airbags in seat. Been driving it like that for a week, yes i have an airbag light but im sure once i plug it in itll go out. Any airbag related wiring, on any car/truck is yellow so just be careful with those and you’re good. My 2cts

One thing I want to note (and I know this thread is a bit old), that on some vehicles if the airbag light is lit, part or all of the airbag system can be disabled.

This has been the case with some of my sedans previously (Hyundai, passenger occupancy sensor died, the entire airbag system shuts down when the error code gets thrown). Dealer told me that it does it for safety, and it’s not recommended to drive with the light on.
