pick up a fuel line disconnect tool st at your local parts store. should cost less the $20. one example is...

snap it over the pump tubes and press it into the fittings and pull the line off.

Those exact tools did the job in three seconds lol thanks man! Expensive fix to fix a damn gas gauge -_-
