First post here and hate it is something that should be simple. I have an 04 Yukon and I bought a bull bar to put on it. While removing the tow hooks I hit an issue. The horizontal bolts on each seem to not want to come out. The length makes them hit the front bumper while trying to pull them out. Seems like most I've seen just come right out. Am I missing something? Added a photo but I'm doing this on my phone so not sure it's going to show.

I put a grill guard on mine the other day, but I didn't have tow hooks before. When I out the horizontal bolt on the guard, there wasn't any room at all to spare. To get the bolt in I had to go at an angle. It's just a generally tight space

Maybe the NBS differs but Im pretty sure you shouldn't have to take out a horizontal Bolt, there should just be two vertical Bolts IIRC . However I could be completely wrong.

They're different, the nbs has one vertical bolt and one long horizontal bolt

Ran into the same problem when I removed mine to put my DenaliDownUnder lower grille. I will neither confirm nor deny that I cut some of that to get the bolts out. It is a really tight area to say the least. Got them both out and can't even tell....good luck

Take the bumper off. 6 15mm bolts. 4 ontop (remove grille and you'll see them) an two 15mm on the outer braces. Then you can easily remove the bolts

Got them out. Took it to my brother in laws service station and put it up on the lift. With the help of a crowbar got them out fairly easy once I was able to get some leverage. Much easier to do with it on the lift than laying underneath it! Thanks for the info though!

Post pics of the bull bar once you get it on. I think after your struggle with the tow hooks we'd all love to see it
