Jumping on a plane tomorrow to South Carolina then driving to Walt Disney World for a total of 14 days. I reserved a 2009 or 2010 Hoe or Yukon. I requested a Burb or XL but those are first come first serve.
I'm a little worried because there are 7 of us traveling (all kids) besides the wife. 2 of them being my 8 month old "twins". Baby gear uggghhh! Double stroller, playpen, 2 large luggage bags and 5 medium sized. :badidea:..
I do have a canvas roof top luggage bag to hold maybe the 2 large and 2 medium bags but I think im pushing it. Those Hoes don't hold much junk in the trunk!! Wish me luck.
BTW anybody know of any good BBQ or Sea food places in Beaufort SC????

Wow sounds like an expensive trip!!! Gunna be fun tho, the kids will remember that for the rest of their lives :)

Personally I would go to a sporting good store and get a nice thick plastic tarp and bungee cords to put as much as I possibly could on top of the burb

Have fun! The family and I will be at Disney World in May. That's the reason why I traded in the Avalanche for the Hoe.

Not very cool, but I like to rent a minivan when we travel on vacation with the kids. Tons of room, nice family features and built to be flexible.

A few years back, we rented a Ford 10-12 passenger van for a trip to Florida. OMG, gas was 4 dollars per gallon and the best it got was 10-13 mpg. The next year I bought our Tahoe and our trip to Myrtle Beach we got 19 mpg. We were loaded and hauling a bunch of beach stuff. However, renting for vacations is something I do sometimes do if anything to avoid wear on my vehicles.

Had a great trip. I wound up renting a brand new 2010 Suburban LT. Which worked out because the Tahoe would not have fit all our gear.
I like the 5.3 but I thought the tranny had some trouble choosing its gears with that 6 speed. Plus it seemed alot slower off the line then my Yukon XL.

They gave this truck to me with 8 miles on it.:Handshake: By the end of trip one of the kids got sick and made it almost out of the truck from the 3rd row.:puke:....and I took a ginormous swig of an ice cold sprite and had the bubbles go down the wrong pipe....:waytogo: Came up all over the front glass and dash hahahha...plus something staind the front black leather seat blue somewhere along the way IDK...I do know NEVER BY A RENTAL!! HAHa..
By the end of that trip I put 1,500 miles on that truck. Cost me $1,400 was worth it IMO. She was good to me! Sorry Burb..
