Hello -

Been poking around on the net and I'm almost certain that I cannot upgrade the OnStar unit on a 2000 Yukon to work. Let me know if I'm wrong!

Does anyone have any idea if the system can be replaced with something useful? I like the idea of using the factory stereo - mute, mic, speakers - with my phone via cable or bluetooth.

Any ideas? Products? Resources?

I'm pretty sure you can upgrade to a digital VCIM, correct? I thought when they changed form analog to digital they offered OnStar free for a year if you paid to upgrade your VCIM...

I'm not sure, but when I was researching this same topic, it didn't look like it was possible, so I stuck a video monitor in the space for my reverse camera.

I think you can enter your Vin to check if the system in your vehicle is upgradeable.
