Replacement Remote for OEM DVD

I just bought a 2005 Denali XL. Has the OEM NAV and DVD. It did not however come with a remote to it. But now I have my hands on remote from someone else who upgraded theirs to a aftermarket DVD. So my question is how do I get to work with my factory DVD? Do I need to program it? If so how do I do it? Any other threads that answer this question?

Also another question, is there a way to make my factory NAV screen a DVD player? I heard of some rumors of a unlockable code or something, does anyone know anything about this?

The remote should automatically work once I view of the sensor and as far as the factory navi I think the peace your looking for is a GM lockpic but I dont know the model number I'm sure the next person who replies will know.

Ok got the remote to work, but still wanting to know how to use the nav screen for a dvd player. Thanks the help

Did you try it in park? It might not work due to safety. GM doesn't want you watching while you drive

i have same question about the dvd/nav. no it doesnt work in park or witg parking brake applied

yeah it doesn't work, someone told me I needed to have it reprogrammed or something like that but still not sure.
