Hey guys, new to the forum. I've spent more time searching than it would

probably take to just do the job. Does anyone know of a video or write up on

replacing door latches and strikers on 88-99 chevy trucks? There is a great

video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1isrUB9N7tI. It shows you how to

take apart the whole inner door. I also read on another forum that you can

remove the latch from that access hole on the side of the door but there were

no details. Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks for your time guys.:)

Thanks, they do have a lot of great videos. None about door latches and strikers though.

Maybe most people just live with the door rattle. I had two of these trucks and they

both did this even after bushing and pin replacement. I will document the job when I get

around to it. LMC truck has door latches for 50$.

I have tried that. The striker and latch are so beat up it didn't make any

difference. I'm rocking the electrical tape on the striker right now. Did you

replace the door latch? If so, did you have to take the inner door panel

off?

I didn't replace my latches I just pulled them out cleaned them up and regressed them. you will deff have to remove the inner panel as the connecting rods for the lock and handle. just be warned it is a tedious task, and will take some time.
