I am thinking of replacing the factory CD player with a double Din after market unit. My question is can I remove some of the plastic that sits just above the factory unit behind the trim panel? This is on an 03 Denali that has the remote CD player mounted below the radio. Attached is a picture that shows what I am talking about. It is the plastic located above the radio in the picture. Can I remove it or does it serve some function?
