Hi
Just wondering if anyone has replaced the Bose stock deck with newer nav and backup camera unit? If so. What size deck would fit? Any advice would help thanks

Go to the Crutchfield web site and enter your truck's details, and you will get a list of the aftermarket head units that will fit your truck, along with the features of the fitting head units. Lots of folks here have a Kenwood head unit, and they are happy with it.

It depends on how much work you want to put into it. The 02 Denali has a 1.5 DIN size stock but if you put in a 03-06 dash bezel (used Denali ones with the wood grain are hard to find) and do a bit of adjustment on the HVAC control you can install a full double din and that opens up the possibilities greatly. That’s what I did and went with a nice Pioneer with wireless CarPlay and backup cam.

I just installed a Pioneer MVH-1400NEX. I had to cut out the plastic tray, but otherwise it fit.

You can avoid cutting out the tray (not a big deal) if you get a shallow digital media unit (no CD player). Alpine, JCV, and Kenwood make shallow units. They were more expensive, for some damn reason, or less featureful for the price so I just got the Pioneer. The screen on the Pioneer is sub-optimal compared to the factory screen on my 2019 Jetta in terms of color contrast (greens and reds get blown out), but job done and I don't really care. Powers the Image Dynamics component speakers I have really well (until I get an amp).

You have to either get the double din kit for the prior generation (with the clip-in mounts) and then customize your factory dash bezel or buy the whole bezel kit for $150. I just used the cheap option and will eventually beautify my dash bezel that I just trimmed a little bigger to clear the screen until I can fill in gaps and make it look nice.

Literally any normal 2DIN will fit with trim work and the right mounts, as noted above.
