After installing a CAI how do I reset the cars computers to adjust for the increase in air to the flow sensor?

Not that I have heard since most of the after market CAI's have you use the factory sensor. I just installed a Volant CAI and she is running fine w/o any resets.

Not a big enough difference to warrant any changes to the computer. They sound cool however.

On other cars, typically disconnect the battery for a certain amount of time. I agree with others though, no need to reset. The BCM/ECU should adjust after time.

sometimes it takes a few days for the computer to sense the cooler, more airflow...so if it's acting werird, give it a couple days. (low idleing, etc)

not sure if it helps, but when i had my magnaflow installed the guy says he leaves the battery disconnected for an hour for the ecu to reset. still idled low for a couple days. every now and then i think it has a relapse and idles low, but its only been a few weeks.

Not to be a killjoy, but I have raced cars (mainly BMWs) with SCCA and BMW Club Raicng for years and when we dynoed track cars after adding a CAI or exhaust but still kept stock headers, cats, etc. The gains were minimal. They sound good and your butt dyno will tell you it is faster, but it's not that much. Until you remap the computer (not reset) you aren't getting any real HP increases.

I hope I didn't come off as a pompus a$$ as I have added a CAI and a louder exhaust to just about every car/truck/suv I have owned as well. They sound great, but that's just about all they are good for.
