I have an 04 Yukon with dual zone climate control and I hate it. Is there anyway to go back to a single zone control like I had in my Silverado? There just isn't any fine adjustment with regard to temperature on the dual zone. It's either cold or full blown heat wave.

no. you'd have to rewire the entire truck, just like going from the manual to the auto climate control.

There's no reason your AC shouldn't be able to be adjusted to a normal temp. That's the entire reason for the "auto" climate control. You should be able to set it to say 75, and it keep it there.

Maybe there's something wrong with it. Maybe the blend door actuators aren't working properly and are either always opened or closed.

I just had the two blend door actuators replaced. But when I set the temp to say 85 it's still quite cool so I have to go to 90 to get hot air which is inevitably too hot.

was that done at a GM dealer? Do you know if they tried to recalibrate the AC?

You might be able to try to recalibrate it yourself. I found this by doing a search.

Place the ignition switch to the OFF position.
With the Mode knob in the PANEL position, press and hold the AC button for 5 seconds.
Rotate the Mode knob fully counterclockwise.
Rotate the Mode knob fully clockwise.
Rotate the Mode knob fully counterclockwise.
Release the AC button.
Wait 40 seconds for the HVAC control module to self-calibrate.
Start the vehicle.

I know all about replacing the faulty blend door actuators, but to me it sounds like the AC is not calibrated. It's not telling those actuators to slowly open/close.

I as well will try this, thanks Nathan.

Could you be a bit more specific as to what you EXACTLY mean by the mode knob being in the PANEL position? Do you consider the mode knob to be the temperature control knob? Do you do this to both knobs passenger and driver or only driver? Do I hold the AC button while rotating the knob(s)?

If the ignition is in the OFF position, does the key need to be in? Do I start the truck first, then turn it off leaving the key in the ignition?

THANKS IN ADVANCE.
