So did some searching don’t see if anyone has had any issues swapping the license plate lights to LED or the reverse lights ?

Could I get some input on if there are any woes after the install?

No problems with my 07 Denali. I used some LEDs from Amazon that had good reviews. So far they’ve been on there for over a year and I’ve had zero issues. No flickering either. Stay away from the eBay ones. They are cheap as hell and flicker after about a month. Anything over $20 for a set should be reputable.

I have these bigger ones for reverse lights

I use 194 LEDs for the license plate like these (surprised they’re unavailable I just bought them like 2 weeks ago)

The larger ones will fit in the license plate housing but you have the really squeeze them in. I noticed the bulbs get bent and shorten the life tremendously. So I just ordered the 194 size and they fit much better.

I don’t actually have any pics of them on my truck but I’ll try tonight when it gets dark

I use Lasfit bulbs for my reverse lights, they are incredibly super duper bright. I was also using some cheap LED bulb replacements for the license plate lights. No problems. But then I upgraded to the self contained/integrated LED lights that replace the OEM light housings. Once again, super duper bright, no problems. They come with "optional" resisters which plug into the harness and I went ahead and used them because why not.

Do you have a link for those?

No problem at all to convert. I used JDM Astar LEDs, and the work great for me.

After all, is extreme brightness needed for your license plate? Who do you want to see it more easily?
