I have a 2007 Tahoe and every once in a while the reverse light stays lit to the point where it drains my battery. I tried to replace a relay in fuse box but it didn't work. I only tried that because I can get the lights to turn off by tapping on the fuse block. Anybody have any Suggestions?

I have done it but I can't find the tread I used. All you need is a switch and some 16 gauge wire.
1. You have to find the reverse light fuse under the hood, tap a wire into it.

2. Get power from somewhere, I got it from the battery but you can get it from anywhere you like.
3. Get a good ground, I got this from a bolt in the floor board.
4. Run the wires into the truck where ever you want the switch.
5. Cut hole for switch and attach wires. I put my switch in the little cubby hole next to the headlight switch. DONE!
Here is the switch I used http://www.amazon.com/Pilot-LED-Rou...EO/ref=sr_1_33?ie=UTF8&qid=1304448921&sr=8-33 I got my from Autozone for like $5.
Took me about 15-20 min. Cheapest/best mod I have done. Hope this helps!

I have the same problem with my 07 denali. Do your lights come on when you put it in reverse? And do they stay on every once in awhile when your driving?

This is what mine does. The whole switch idea sounds like a band-aid for the problem. I think the problem lies with the relay that is being triggered from shifting it. One of the gates must be open or not closing all the way.

I havent had time to bring mine in yet to get it fixed, but when i do and figure out what it was ill let you know.

Let me know if you figure this out besides the switch idea.

yeah putting a switch in it doesnt really solve the issue, only covers up the symptom... i'd be interested in knowign the real fix also, not that i have the issue or even the same year model but just to file in the back of my brain

I did it so I could turn them on whenever I wanted, such as for tailgaters. I'm not sure if would help your problem but it might. Sorry, I don't have any other suggestions.
