Ok, I often have a bike rack on the back and in the past, I'd have to disable the rear backup sensors, once or twice and then it would hold in the disabled mode while my bike rack was on the yuk. Nice feature, I guess maybe the camera would "sense" an object very close and auto disable the sensor.

Another nice feature was that when I took my rack off the backup sensors would automatically enable the next time I drove the Yuk.

I just put my rack back on and now I've had to disable the sensors each time I drive (6 or more times so far).

So what gives? Is there some "logic" to the system that I'm missing?

Usually they will disable when you go into reverse and there's something extremely close to the sensors. I noticed this on my Saturn when I had a trailer hooked to it. It would disable the beepers but as soon as I unhooked the trailer they would work again. Try to mount one of the bikes facing the opposite direction and see if it does it again.

When I installed my cargo carrier the automatically shut off. I thought there was a switch or something in the receiver that did it.

Started "working" today, just took a little longer this time. BTW, tow/haul mode disables the sensors.
