MOST RECENT PHOTOGRAPH

20160924_102942_zpswokialwf.jpg

The Details:
2003 Chevrolet Tahoe 323 (5.3L Flex) 4x4 LT Package

Image before any modifications were made (Assist-Steps are gone because I removed them before I had a camera).

First Mod was a K&N Intake.

Sounds pretty good now.

Next Mods were 1 1/4" Wheel Spacers and 15 inch wheels I got off my friends Nissan, he got them from a junk yard (tires were totally trashed/hardened).

We had to cut the studs.

Looked pretty awesome though.

The 100,000 mile mark! On March 31, 2013

I removed the 15 inch wheels cause I wasn't really happy with them. Still have the 1 1/4" Wheel Spacer/Adapters. Gives it a slightly better stance.

Whats the purpose of the spacers? Me personally would never use them.

Gives the truck a wider stance, most use them to clear either smaller or larger wheels/tires. I needed them for the 15"s since the Tahoe does not support 15"s with its stock brake set up. I will remove them when I get new wheels.

what wheels will you be getting?

Right now it looks like Black Rock Type D 942's. 16x8's with some BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO's like I have now. I would go with the American Racing AR767 but the center bore is too big and I haven't found enough data on all that yet. I want them to fit with no vibrations. I will remove my spacers most likely.

Other details. The truck was my dad's and has been dealer maintained for the most part. I recently did the rear dust shields myself with help from a write-up on here. Ordered it new in 2003. Had the in-dash 6-disc changer repaired and new buttons put on. I removed it myself and mailed it out to a guy out west. Also replaced the turn signal thing which was causing both my hazards to activate when turning left. That would scare the pants off some people. :D

The tires are on back order from BF Goodrich! Hopefully before any big snow hits the North East.

Still on back order so I switched to some Dick Cepek Trail Country tires. Same Black Rock wheels though.

New headlights arrived today. Excited to see how they will look but I will first silicone them to hopefully avoid any condensation.

More pictures of the installation when the weather warms up.
