Anyone added a roof rack to a current-version police Tahoe SSV?
I was curious how difficult and how expensive it was to do.

Thanks!

Don't do it cuz then it will be a dead give-a-way your not the Po-Po. You'll miss the benefits of people getting out of the left lane on the highway when you come up behind them and they sh*t their pants thinking they're caught.. :laughing1:

The fun part is that I am the Po-Po. I just have a frequent-enough need to also haul things with the truck that it would be nice.

Actually someone else asked the same question recently ... if I remember correctly you already have the pre-drilled holes on your roof that are capped.

If so I believe any 2000+ rack will bolt right on. The black ones are pretty easy and cheap to get as many folks remove them to replace them with esky/denali ones.

CL/ebay of course and probably a few members here might have one for sale.

Cheers!

Thanks! I haven't received the vehicle yet, so I'm hoping for pre-drilled.
I've posted a 'wanted' ad... I just can't respond to *** yet due to lack of posts.

I posted on your wanted ad. I have a brand new roof rack that I took of my 2011 Tahoe a few days after I bought it in August. I put a different rack on and I have this one sitting here. I was going to post it on the for sale section, but if you want it we can make a deal.

Well, that's why checking first that those are there is a good idea. :)

Another member with either a PPV or SSV had caps on pre-drilled holes so the rack addition was easy.

If the holes are not there then it's the same situation as the hybrids and drilling new holes is not advised.

My 09 PPV does not have any holes in the roof pre-drilled.

From what I can tell... no PPVs have pre-drilled (with what I've gathered so far), but at least some of the SSVs do.
We will shortly find out what the 2012s are like!
