I got a Certified Used 2009 Tahoe Hybrid back in April from a local dealer.
The longer I own it, the more suspicious I am becoming of this dealer.

1) They gave me 2 broken headsets for the rear DVD and kept the remote.
2) The tires were 100% bald and blistering.
3) The wiper motor had to be replaced a month ago because it was "worn out"

We didnt think too much about all this other than we are not buying from there again but this weekend it developed a massive oil leak 4 weeks after the last change. I caught a quart in 24 hours and it looks like another quart is on the driveway. While in the shop to fix that, they noticed that the rotors are rusting so bad that flakes are coming off all 4 rotors...They even showed me so I could verify it wasnt just an "upsell"

End the back story...what I'm wondering is what is the average life span of a set of rotors??

This truck has only 41,000 miles on it...I just pulled the carfax and whattayaknow it says there is an odometer mismatch and the odometer reading should be treated as suspect...I know this can happen due to typos but this truck is showing an awful lot of wear and tear.

Its obvious the dealer lied about a few of the "inspection points" to get it "Certified"...we are wondering now if they sold us a vehicle with a tampered odometer as well....

I just had to have my rotors turned at 61k, but I would guess the life of the rotors would be well over 100k

Where did they show you the rotors are rusting and flaking? Is it around the very outside edges? Every rotor I've seen always has rust flakes around that very outside edge, on the inside of the venting. Is it rusting where this guys thumb is pointing?

Nearly the entire rotor except for the direct contact points were flaking. It was very rusted along the outer rim but I also pulled a flake off the rear surface of the rotor. There also were rusted gouges along the contact area of the rotor and its driven daily.

Just saw your edit...

Truck is still at the shop and I'm going to try and keep the original rotors but it looked more like these two photos.

According to www.gmcertified.com, when you buy a certified vehicle, you will get a carfax report. Didn't you get one?? It also says that if a vehicle doesn't pass the 172 point inspection, it can't be certified.
