Ok so Im going down to georgia in a few weeks to pick up my used 2005 tahoe. I had a friend at a dealer print me the RPO sheet from the vin number. I need some clarification on the rear axle.
The codes are as follows:
GU6 Axle, Rear Ratio 3.42
G80 Axle, Rear Positraction/limited slip.
I think that I have figured out that GU6 is just the ratio code. The G80 Code is weird because I always thought that the G80 was the Eaton "Gov lock" Rear end and not a posi unit. does the g80 just signify some sort of traction device or is there actually a locker version and a posi version.
PS I really cant wait to go get her!
