RST Premier Tahoe vs Denali

Hey guys, first post here. I’ve been looking at the K2 SUV’s over the past few weeks and am looking for some input. I’ve mostly been looking at Denali’s because I do some towing of a camper trailer and, coming from a K2 Silverado with the 5.3, realized that the 6.2 makes pulling any weight much nicer.

However, I’ve started seeing a lot more RST Tahoe’s with the 6.2 and am a bit torn. I like the blacked out trim on the Tahoe’s, but otherwise am largely split between the looks of both. Is there any other difference between the 2 other than cosmetics? Any other considerations (resale value, etc) I should be aware of? Thanks for your input.

Yeah, I’ve heard it tows better but I’m not sure I want to live with the extra length the 80% of the time I’m not towing.

they are basically clones. I would buy the one that looks the best to you, your favorite in stock in/out color combo and from a dealer that is pleasant and has no dealer adds-on.
Some claim the customer experience for service at GMC is higher

Basically the same vehicle.

I agree with then other post though. If you're going to be pulling I'd recommend the longer wheelbase.

Drive them both and see what you feel like. That extra few feet really helps with cargo space too.

Go with whatever you get the best deal with. Resale is pretty crappy overall.. I bought my '10 Escalade ESV AWD Premium (an amost $90k vehicle when new) in 2015 for $26k w/ 72,000 on the odometer.

When I was shopping, RSTs only came with 22” wheels. My wife and I hated the noisy, bumpy ride they had compared to the 20s on the Denali we were looking at. The difference was night and day. Some prefer to “feel the road”, so it’s a personal thing I guess. Suggest you test drive a rig with 20s and 22s back to back over the same course and decide.

As for towing (and I do a lot of it), the 6.2 is awesome. Ours takes premium gas, so that is a factor if you drive a lot.

My '10 Esky with 22's and 135k rides good.

Magnetic ride control and air ride suspension helps. If you don't have that w/22's I could see how it might be a little rough. However, I thought all of the GM full size trucks with 22's had basically the same system. If you're complaining that it's rough I might question if those 22's are original equipment.. dealers will sometimes swap those out on the lot because people like the look of 22's better.
